Reading a clinic's pricing page
Where the follow-up, the report and the retest usually hide.
The headline price on a clinic's website is rarely the number on the final invoice. The difference is usually in four places.
The four places
The reading. For diagnostics, the measurement and the specialist's interpretation of it are often billed separately.
The follow-up. The consultation where someone explains your results may be included, or may be a separate appointment at a separate price.
The report. Some providers charge for the written report, or for sharing it with your own physician.
The retest. Programmes built on tracking change assume a second measurement. Ask its price before the first one.
A provider that answers all four in writing before booking passes the pricing criterion in our register. Most currently do not.
